¡Feliz Navidad!

...share the joy of Christmas 2003 with the children of the streets...

For many people, Christmas officially starts with the traditional Festival of Lessons and Carols from King's College Cambridge, which is broadcast around the world by the BBC. The Bidding Prayer of that service contains the words:

"Be it this Christmastide our care and delight to prepare ourselves in heart and mind to go even unto Bethlehem and see this thing which is come to pass, and the Babe lying in a manger. ... And because this of all things would rejoice His heart, let us at this time remember in His name the poor, the cold, the hungry, and the oppressed; the lonely and the unloved; and the little children."

Colombian Christmas fare: natilla (a kind of caramel pudding) and buñellos (cheese-flavoured doughnuts)

It was in this spirit that during the run up to Christmas Fr Peter and the Funvini team went out trying to let hundreds of the youngsters who live or work in the streets of Medellín have some small share in the sort of Christmas that more fortunate children tend to take for granted.

Fr Peter and the staff of Let The Children Live! and Funvini join the children in thanking all our benefactors whose generosity has made this work possible, and in wishing them a "¡Feliz Navidad!"

The following are recent pictures of Fr Peter giving Christmas presents to street children - they speak for themselves!

Please help Let The Children Live! share the joy of Christmas with the children of the streets...
